On Monday, March 7, Savannah James shared on Instagram the regimen she employs to help her daughter Zhuri James maintain waist-length hair.
In what looks to be their home, Savannah is seen in the post parting and flat ironing the 7-year-old's hair. Savannah trims Zhuri's ends and divides her hair into various portions as the video progresses.
After the cutting, Savannah runs her hands through Zhuri's straight hair to highlight its length. Savannah shared the footage with her followers and explained that the post was meant to offer them a "sneak peek" at what the James girls' wash-and-trim day entails.
"A little peek into our wash/trim day routine. I am not a professional," the 35-year-old commented, adding a caution that she is not a hair professional. My profession is kitchen beautician. Over the past seven years, we have reached these heights thanks to the method I employ. Don't come for me, please. I'll be sharing more information shortly!
The length of Zhuri's hair was praised by many as Savannah's upload became viral online. One person even went so far as to say that Zhuri has more hair than Rapunzel and Pocahontas together.
Who said Black folks couldn't grow hair, baby? She resembles the Mona Lisa.
"Young Queen has more hair than Rapunzel and Pocahontas."
"That baby has a lot of hair, wow."
"The baby girl's inches are healthy."
"Her ankles are almost touched by this baby hair."
As they replied to Savannah's post, in which she begged her fans not to critique her routine, some of the admirers wanted her to divulge her hair-care secrets. "We're not coming for you, ma'am," one wrote. We would like to know your secret. "So, you're dropping the hair care products, right because?" questioned another.
"She's telling people not to come for her and I'm trying to learn from her," wrote a third Instagram user. My child needs assistance, and my a— needs assistance.
