Beyoncé is partnering with Adidas, so get ready to never wear anything but sneakers and sportswear anymore. In April 2019, the two announced a new collaboration that will involve clothing, footwear, and the relaunch of Beyoncé's Ivy Park brand.
"For me, this is the collaboration of a lifetime," Beyoncé declared in a brand statement. "Adidas has achieved great success by pushing the frontiers of creativity. We both adhere to a company philosophy that prioritizes innovation, expansion, and social responsibility. With an established, capable leader, Ivy Park will be relaunched and expanded on a really global scale.
Beyoncé hinted to her collaboration with Adidas on April 26, 2019, posting pictures of herself in a room full of sneakers in a form-fitting red bodysuit:
Beyoncé, the latest creative partner of the German sports behemoth, will co-design a variety of athletic items, from lifestyle to performance wear. Bey's activewear line, Ivy Park, which she repurchased from Topshop in 2018, will also be relaunched as part of the agreement. She did this, making her one of the first Black women to own an athleisure business alone.
In a statement released by the company, Adidas executive board member Eric Liedtke stated, "As the creator sports brand, Adidas challenges the status quo and pushes the limits of creativity through its open source approach." "Beyoncé is a well-known artist and a successful businesswoman, and when we work together, we can motivate change and inspire the next generation of artists,"
We'll be on standby and signing up for updates until the brand announces the debut date of its first Beyoncé-designed products.
