"I know how important it is to give back because my family and I didn't have much growing up," Giannis remarked.
"There were numerous organizations in Greece that provided assistance to my family and me." His parents had a difficult time finding employment in Greece, just like many other immigrants. By selling goods like watches, purses, and sunglasses, Antetokounmpo and his older brother Thanasis assisted.

Growing up in the Sepolia district of Athens, Antetokounmpo put on his service attire and assisted in delivering 27,000 meals to those in need.
