In the hours following the announcement Emily Armstrong has joined Linkin Park she has been heavily criticized for her alleged association to Scientology and support of Danny Masterson

In a recent statement shared on her Instagram stories, Emily Armstrong, the new singer for Linkin Park, talked about her friendship and previous support of actor Danny Masterson.

Armstrong's previous affiliation with the Church of Scientology and now-incarcerated actor Danny Masterson caused considerable social media outrage amid the enthusiasm surrounding her unveiling as Linkin Park's new co-vocalist.

Several women, including Chrissie Carnell-Bixler, the wife of At the Drive In and The Mars Volta musician Cedric Bixler-Zavala, publicly accused Masterson of rape in 2017.  After a retrial in 2023, he was ultimately found guilty on two of the three rape counts.  Following Carnell-Bixler's original claims against the actor, the couple accused the Church of Scientology of harassment on multiple occasions, claiming that the Church's methods persisted throughout the trial.
