“I’m not honored,” Wayne said Thursday evening.  As many in the Hollywood Palladium audience applauded, the five-time Grammy winner went on, "Where I'm from, New Orleans, you're not supposed to do this."  "When I was fourteen years old, I entered my mother's room and she asked me for a child since my dad had been slain and her son had just blown up and embarked on his first tour.  "Son, I can't live in this house by myself," mom stated when I got home.  We will need to come up with a solution.

Young Money labelmate Tyga, Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz, and well-known producer and collaborator Swizz Beatz performed some of his songs, and Drake and Deion Sanders paid their respects to him via video messages.
