According to Emily Armstrong, her being Linkin Park's new singer was FORTNESS.
Emily Armstrong told Q101 that she came to Linkin Park by "kismet," or fate. There were a lot of things that were like, 'Wait, you worked with this guy?' I'm not sure if this makes sense. "Everything was just falling into place in such a way that I thought, 'How have I never met any of these people before?'" then everything suddenly starts to make sense—where we are in our lives, as individuals, in their band, and me as an artist and in my band, and how everything truly came together at a time when we were both searching for this.
"We discovered so many things in common that it simply began to unite us." "Okay, this is it," it said.
