Linkin Park's bassist Dave Farrell crashed into the drums after Emily Armstrong unintentionally shoved him during a recent live performance.
In a band-shared Instagram video, guitarist Brad Delson questioned Farrell, "Emily push you over?" Yes, the cymbal stand was there when I wanted to back off. "I had to go into the drums," Farrell said.
"Drums?" Delson asked. Dave said, "Emily came into me." "I collided with Emily," Brad explained. "Going back to the drums," Farrell added. At one point, I was on the ground. I wanted to give it a sense of purpose," Delson added.
Linkin Park wrote in the video's caption, "We do all our own stunts." With new drummer Colin Brittain and singer Armstrong, the band is reunited.
Regarding the band's new lineup, Mike Shinoda recently told Kevan Kenney of KROQ, "It's really complicated." "I think the best thing we did was to just basically let things happen in the order and at the timeline that they were going to happen, let things happen organically and not push too hard," the speaker said. "For me, two years ago, it was very overwhelming."
The music just sort of came into focus depending on what we were having the most fun doing, Shinoda continued. "And I feel like what ended up evolving was we just naturally kind of found each other, we found this new lineup, and we found Emily and Colin in particular."
"From Zero," their latest album, "sounds like a return to roots," the host said. "I love that there's such a strong Linkin Park DNA in the record," Shinoda retorted. Although it does sound a lot like Linkin Park, I believe that the record has elements of each of the band's eras as well as the classic sound.
The release date of "From Zero" was November 15, 2024. Linkin Park also said earlier this month that they will be going on a global tour that would stop in North America, Europe, Asia, and South America. After three performances in Mexico in January, the tour will go to Japan and Jakarta, Indonesia. They will perform in a number of American cities over the spring and summer before wrapping up their tour in South America in November.
