Some things are more significant than basketball. The Milwaukee Bucks are aware of this, as their top player, Giannis Antetokounmpo, laments his father Charles' untimely passing on Friday night.
Antetokounmpo did not accompany the team to Dallas for Monday night's preseason opener against the Mavericks. It is up to head coach Jason Kidd to decide when the 22-year-old all-star will make a comeback.
Kidd stated, "There's no timetable," "He'll decide when it's time to come back and then it's for us to help him get back in the fold."
Everyone in the organization has been thinking and praying for Antetokounmpo even though he hasn't been with the club in recent days. Antetokounmpo has responded to their calls and texts by keeping the lines of contact open. However, everyone is aware that he needs time to be with his family during this trying time.
It was "just a very unfortunate situation," Kidd stated. "As a group, we are praying for Giannis and his family. It's a very depressing circumstance. He's handled it really nicely, in my opinion.
