New LINKIN PARK members EMILY AMRSTRONG and COLIN BRITTAIN address what it feels like to join a band that already has a massive legacy and how they’re dealing with fan expectations

Some information about Emily Armstrong joining their ranks has been provided by Linkin Park.  On Thursday, the iconic rock band joyfully announced that Emily from Dead Sara would be joining them as a co-vocalist and that Colin Brittain, who has written and produced hits for artists like G Flip, would be joining them as their new drummer.

In addition to preparing for a huge tour, the band is getting ready for the publication of their first song collection in almost ten years.  However, after working covertly with Emily for some time, the group has now revealed why she joined their roster.  After Chester's tragic death in 2017, Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Phoenix, and Joe Hahn stepped back from the spotlight.

They discovered a remarkable bond and a natural chemistry after spending time with Emily and Colin, who combined their "uncontainable energy" to create a masterpiece.  "The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created," Mike said while discussing their inclusion.  With this new lineup and the energetic and lively new song we've created together, we feel incredibly invigorated.  We continue to explore new audio touchpoints while integrating the ones for which we are well-known.

However, as it was made public that Emily had ties to both the Church of Scientology and convicted rapist Danny Masterson, the group received criticism from ardent supporters.  The artist from Los Angeles, who once dropped out of high school early to follow her dream job, was seen in 2013 at the 44th Anniversary Gala of the Church of Scientology.

Emily was one of the many celebrities who attended the event in Los Angeles on August 24, 2013.  Cedric Bixler-Zavala, a fellow artist from the band Mars Volta, was pictured with Emily.  However, it's unknown if Emily is still connected to the controversial church, which is frequently referred to as a "cult".

There are rumors that she was present when Masterson was tried and found guilty of rape in 2022.  For two crimes in 2001 and 2003, Masterson was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Nobody knows for sure if Emily and Masterson are still in contact at this time.  Fans, however, are furious over the circumstance.  "I'm tired of seeing people excited about this new Linkin Park singer," one person said vehemently, expressing their view that the late Chester would not approve.  Emily Armstrong is a well-known follower of Danny Masterson and a Scientologist.  "I know Chester wouldn't have wanted this," they said angrily.
