The LeBron James Family Foundation held its annual 'We Are Family' gathering at Cedar Point - with his mother Gloria also on hand to greet over 8,000 students👏

The LeBron James Family Foundation hosted its annual “We Are Family” reunion in Cedar Point Tuesday.

 More than 8,000 schoolchildren and their families were welcomed to the park by LeBron and his mother, Gloria.  For the day, which had a "To the Beach" theme, participants received complimentary entrance to Cedar Point.

 At the conclusion of the evening, LeBron spoke to the crowd and thanked everyone for their support.  He went on to say that he is always, at his core, "a kid from Akron, Ohio," and that he is glad to have become someone who so many people look up to.

On July 30, LeBron James' I Promise School in Akron opened.  The basketball player founded the school using the "We Are Family" tenet of the LeBron James Family Foundation.  Supporting children and their families both within and outside of the classroom is the aim.
