As a father to four children, Giannis Antetokounmpo is enjoying life!
In an interview with PEOPLE regarding his collaboration with Huggies for their Little Movers diaper brand, the 30-year-old Milwaukee Bucks player discusses his life since he and his wife, Mariah Antetokounmpo, welcomed their fourth child, a girl called Aria Capri.
Antetokounmpo's 19-month-old daughter, Eva, was a special co-star in his Huggies campaign. On the court, she displayed her own skills while sporting the brand-new Huggfit 360 diaper. The proud father talks candidly about life since bringing the child home and tells PEOPLE that he and his wife are "so happy and so grateful" for the new member of their family.
As he tells PEOPLE, "We are just so happy and so grateful for our growing family," "The initial days can be somewhat hectic, but they are also very fulfilling. Nothing would make me change it. It is truly a blessing that both mother and child are healthy and doing well, and we are simply savoring the time spent raising our four children."
The goal of the Huggies brand and the Antetokounmpo Family is to support underprivileged families. The pair has long supported the Milwaukee Diaper Mission, a member of the National Diaper Bank Network, which helps roughly one in two American families with young children who need diapers. In addition to its continued support of the National Diaper Bank Network, Huggies is giving $100,000 worth of diapers to Milwaukee Diaper Bank to commemorate the partnership with the couple. Since 2011, Huggies, the original sponsors, have supplied about 300 million diapers and wipes.
The pair, who got married in the summer of 2024, has three other kids in addition to the newborn: a 19-month-old daughter named Eva and three- and five-year-old sons named Maverick and Liam. Antetokounmpo's family of six is "such a blessing," he tells PEOPLE, because he and his wife came from large families.
"Having a large family is indeed a blessing. "We always knew we'd want one of our own because Mariah and I both come from large families," he explains. "And I love knowing that my kids will have each other just like my brothers and I had each other."
The NBA player continues, "My kids, Mariah, my brothers, my mom, family.. it means everything to me."
According to Antetokounmpo, his three children have accepted the position of being elder siblings, as have the other younger members of the family.
As he tells PEOPLE, "They're definitely excited," Eva already considers Liam and Maverick to be wonderful big brothers, and they are also very protective. Eva is probably just glad to have someone else to play with. I adore seeing their relationships deepen daily, little by little. It's unique.
In a joint Instagram post, the Nigerian-Greek basketball player initially revealed that he and his spouse had welcomed their fourth child. Their little bundle of happiness was swaddled in the cradle in the delivery room, wearing a pink ribbon. Her name was shared in the caption along with a yellow heart emoji.
Although his wife has been outspoken about how much she enjoys raising a family with the NBA star, Antetokounmpo hardly ever posts pictures of his children on social media. The founder of Sincerely, Mariah posted pictures of their family on Father's Day in June 2023, praising him as "a blessing" to their "growing family."
