Justin Bieber’s latest flurry of social media posts has ignited a wave of backlash, with fans accusing the pop icon of subtly targeting ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez, while also raising alarms about his current mental and emotional state.

The 31-year-old singer has been actively posting memes and clips on Instagram, but it was two particular uploads on Wednesday that caught the attention of Gomez’s supporters.

One post included a scene from The Lord of the Rings, showing Gollum clinging to the One Ring, captioned, "Girls on social media when they get engaged."

According to Daily Mail, many fans interpreted this as a pointed jab at Gomez, who got engaged to music producer Benny Blanco in December 2024.

Another post showed a clip of Doja Cat screaming, before quickly switching to a sweet, innocent demeanor. The caption read, "me acting psycho daily when I’m just a sweet cute, innocent girlie who crashes out sometimes."

Social media quickly filled with backlash, with some accusing Bieber of being unable to move on from Gomez despite being married to Hailey Bieber since 2018.

Commenters reignited discussions about Bieber’s alleged "obsession" with Gomez, referencing years of public speculation about their past relationship.

Others, however, shifted focus to his well-being, expressing worry over what they described as erratic behavior, poor physical appearance, and concerning reports about him not eating or sleeping properly.

Adding to the growing unease, Bieber’s marriage to Hailey remains under a microscope. She recently dismissed rumors that she unfollowed him on Instagram, chalking it up to a “glitch.”
