LeBron James shows no mercy at his son's 10th party as he takes on the kids in basketball and American football

It seems that no professional athlete can completely turn off their competitive edge, no matter how hard they try.

 Yes, try telling LeBron James, the basketball legend, to be more subdued on his son Bryce's tenth birthday.

 James gave his youngest son permission to celebrate with some friends over the weekend, and the Cleveland Cavaliers star went on to defeat them in almost every sport.

The 32-year-old shared a video on Instagram that showed him participating in a variety of sports, such as basketball, American football, and a water battle.

 James, not to be outdone, is seen shooting a slam dunk on his home basketball court and leaping over the children to receive the ball for a touchdown.

 The delighted father went all out for his kid as he entered his second decade, and the celebration appeared to be an extravagant occasion.

 "Being able to do things like this for my kids that I always wish I had as a kid is why I work so extremely hard!" the Cavs great posted on social media alongside the video.

It makes me happy to see my youngest son Bryce at his tenth birthday celebration yesterday, with all of his pals grinning and having a blast!  You are a unique child, and I am very honored to be your father!  I cherish you!

 James had marked out a soccer field and an American football field in his huge garden at the family home. His son's name was written in enormous letters.

 In a another social media photo, Bryce was shown blowing out the magnificent cake that the 13-time NBA All-Star had purchased for him.
