Lionel Messi and Lebron James hugged each other emotionally before Argentina's debut in the Leagues Cup😍😍

On Friday night in Florida, the best soccer player in history and possibly the best basketball player in history faced off.  The most well-known player to ever sign with a Major League Soccer team, Lionel Messi, made his Inter Miami CF debut on Friday against Cruz Azul of Mexico in a League Cup match.

 Messi started the game on the bench. His move to Miami was made official earlier this week when he said he would join the squad when his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired.  LeBron James was able to capitalize on this announcement, which was made prior to the game.  James descended to the spot beside the team's bench at DRV PNK Stadium.

Since his first term with the Cleveland Cavaliers ended in 2010 when he chose to join the Miami Heat, James is well familiar with what it's like to make a highly publicized move to a Miami-based team.  It's unclear if James took advantage of the encounter to try to persuade Messi to sign with Liverpool, the Premier League team in which he has stock, but sadly for James, that ship has most likely departed.
