He is a well-known basketball player with a huge heart and a big personality.  Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks and a few children from the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee went on an unexpected shopping trip.

"We got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Giannis," 14-year-old Jauney Baker said.

The children received a signed Giannis jersey, a $100 Dick's gift card, and the opportunity to consult their own NBA All-Star shopping consultant.

It's enjoyable!  It's enjoyable.  Giannis remarked, "It was just great to walk around, talk to them, and see what they like and don't like."

Some of the children initially found it difficult to believe it was truly happening.

"He's tall.  He's tall.  I don't know, I'm just feeling so anxious at the moment.  Giannis the 'Greek Freak' is standing just beside me," Baker remarked.

 Giannis soon soothed those nerves.

Just as Giannis is a leader on the court, these youngsters were honored for being excellent role models in the "Emerging Leaders" basketball league at the Boys & Girls Club.

However, it was a huge reward to offer them that chance since they earned it by working hard and treating one another with respect.  For them, the prize was fantastic," said Eric Brown of the Greater Milwaukee Boys & Girls Club.

"When I was young, basketball helped me to become who I am today, so just seeing how the sport can help them better themselves -- it's unique," Giannis stated.

"They can always show their kids this in the future.  They can display it to their peers and declare, "I can strive to be better."  I don't have to be what people think I should be or what society thinks I should be.  "Someone great seemed fit to reach back to me, so I can be greater," Brown remarked.

"What I want the kids to take away from this is that whenever you have a chance to give back, always try to give back," Giannis said.
