On Monday, Bronny James and Juju Watkins received their McDonald's All-American Game jerseys in front of a crowded Sierra Canyon gymnasium. On March 28, in Houston, Texas, the nation's best high school senior basketball players will compete in the McDonald's All-American Games.
The event, which featured two jersey presents and a national player of the year award, was emceed by Big Boy from Big Boy's Neighborhood. On Monday, Watkins also received her Naismith Player of the Year honor.
The parents of Watkins and James were present. Following the ceremony, LeBron James spoke to reporters, telling them:
"This is really awesome. It's always satisfying to watch children realize their dreams. Savannah, Bryce, and I are all really proud of Bronny for everything he has accomplished, and today is just another one of those days. We adore his current stage of development. We're more proud of him because he wants to keep doing amazing things on the court and even better things off the court as a young man."
In 2003, LeBron James participated in the McDonald's All-American Game and won MVP.
According to 247Sports.com, Bronny James is the 34th best prospect in the 2023 class. Although he hasn't chosen a school yet, USC, Ohio State, and Oregon are said to be the front-runners to recruit the guard.
ESPN ranks Watkins, a combination guard, as the top player in the nation. She signed with USC.
