Seven years after frontman Chester Bennington passed away, Linkin Park has reformed and is once again producing music.

 The California-based group revealed plans for a new album and tour this fall on September 5th, along with the announcement of Emily Armstrong as the new vocalist.  The same day, Armstrong, formerly of the rock group Dead Sara from Los Angeles, had her livestream concert debut.

 What was the major announcement made by Linkin Park?


 Following a lengthy social media tease with a countdown clock, the rap-rock group announced that it has reformed after taking a break after Bennington's passing.

Armstrong becomes a co-lead vocalist, and Rob Bourdon is replaced as drummer by Colin Brittain.  The band was formed in 1996 and is made up of veteran members Dave Farrell, DJ Joe Hahn, lead guitarist Brad Delson, and co-lead vocalist, guitarist, and keyboardist Mike Shinoda.

The 11-track studio album From Zero, the band's first since 2017's One More Light, will be released on November 15 by Linkin Park, one of the best-selling bands of the twenty-first century.  "The Emptiness Machine," its first song, was made available on Thursday.
