Beyoncé comically accepts a challenge to break the provider's powers in a series of progressively more spectacular antics in a new Verizon commercial that premiered following Usher's Halftime Show during Sunday's Super Bowl LVIII.
"It's Verizon 5G — the network is crazy-powerful," her director, who plays Tony Hale from "Veep," informs her during a music video. "I bet you can't break that."
In response, Beyoncé says, "Bet I can!"
First, she makes a reference to her 2016 album "Lemonade" by launching a surprise lemonade stand.
If that doesn't break Verizon, she releases a new album called "Let's Get Saxy," which is akin to Kenny G and has her playing the sax.
With excitement, she wonders, "Did I break it?" "You broke me," Hale confesses, crying. She hasn't broken it, though.
She then attempts "Beyoncé-I," which features an artificial intelligence version of herself, and "BarBey," which pays homage to the Oscar-nominated "Barbie" movie.
Both are unsuccessful, as is her declaration that she is "running for Beyoncé of the United States."
Bey tries an outer space gambit at last. She becomes serious as the commercial concludes, "Okay, they ready — drop the new music!" as Verizon is still operating at full speed.
The BeyHive was thrilled by the humorous spot, and everyone started searching for new Beyoncé songs.
Fans found an intricate teaser for a "Act II" record, proving that the mission was fulfilled. It looks like Beyoncé will be serving country this time around based on the teaser's theme and the songs "Texas Hold 'Em" and "16 Carriages" that were revealed.
On March 29, the new album will be released.
Watch the teaser, which is based directly on the 1984 Wim Wenders film "Paris, Texas" but has a slight "Nope" vibe:
