Jay Z invited a fan to lunch and gave him $500,000 instead of forcing him to choose between 2 options

Jay-Z seemed to have had enough of the argument over whether to spend $500,000 or have dinner with Jay-Z.  Following a fan's declaration that he would accept the $500,000, the rapper officially acknowledged the chat last week.  Hov grinned and said, "Be good," but the 4:44 MC has now finally offered his opinion on the discussion.  Jay-Z told CBS Mornings' Gayle King that it was obvious to accept the money when they sat down at the Brooklyn Library's reproduction of Baseline Studios.  Some may argue that he has priceless knowledge to share with his lunch companions, but Jay-Z doesn't believe that half a million would be enough.

"You must accept the money.  What should I say?  Jay-Z informed Gayle.  She countered that he would offer "beneficial" counsel, but Jay clarified that his records have set the foundation for his success.  He remarked, "You got all of that in the music for $10.99."  It's not a good deal.  I wouldn't advise you to make a poor offer.  He claimed that it would be far wiser to spend just a tiny percentage of that $500,000 on his discography.  "It's all there if you put it all together and pay close attention to the lyrics and music.  All of the things I predicted came to pass.  I've accomplished everything I stated I wanted to do.

To be fair, Jay-Z previously implied that he didn't think lunch with him would be worth the same amount of money at half a million.  The official X (previously Twitter) account of TIDAL sent out a tweet urging their followers to accept the $500,000 since the Dinner With Jay-Z Or $500,000 issue keeps coming up.  Jay's encouragement of others to grab the bread is therefore not particularly surprising, especially given that he reportedly entered the rap game with a lot of money.

It's interesting to note that Haha Davis was the first to learn this.  In the past, he remembered eating lunch with Jay-Z.  It seems that Jay-Z arrived at lunch a little late and refused to eat, even though Davis was already hungry.  But he acknowledged that the meeting resulted in several business chances, so perhaps having dinner with Hov was worthwhile after all.  View the excerpt above from Jay-Z's interview with Gayle King.  This Thursday and Friday, CBS Mornings will broadcast the entire interview.
